2024 International Booker Prize Shortlist

The six-title shortlist for the 2024 International Booker Prize has been announced, and includes Crooked Plow by Itamar Vieira Junior, translated by Johnny Lorenz (Verso).

The award is given “every year for a single book that is translated into English and published in the UK or Ireland.” The £50,000 prize is divided equally among the author and translator(s). Shortlisted authors and translators will each receive £1,000. Judges for 2024 are Natalie Diaz, Romesh Gunesekera, William Kentridge, Aaron Robertson, and Eleanor Wachtel (chair). The winning title will be announced at a ceremony in the Turbine Hall at London’s Tate Modern on Tuesday May 21, 2024.
