Kritzer Wins WSFA Small Press Award

“The Dragon Project” by Naomi Kritzer (Clarkesworld 3/22) is the winner of the 2023 Washington Science Fiction Association (WSFA) Small Press Award for Short Fiction, presented September 30, 2023 at Capclave in Rockville MD.

Other finalists were

  • “Ashes of a Cinnamon Fire”, R. Z. Held (Shattering The Glass Slipper)
  • “Possession”, Taylor Jones (Reckoning 9/22)
  • “At the Lighthouse, Out by the Othersea”, Juliet Kemp (Uncanny 7-8/22)
  • “In the Belly of the Whale”, Angus McIntyre (Trenchcoats, Towers, and Trolls: Cyberpunk Fairy Tales)
  • “Not the Youngest, Nor the Prettiest, But Someone Else”, Alyse Winters (Shattering The Glass Slipper)

The award recognizes “the best original short fiction published by small presses in the previous year.” The winner is chosen by members of WSFA. For more, see the WSFA Small Press Award site.
