Eden Wins 2023 BBC Young Writers’ Award
Atlas Weyland Eden is the winner of the 2023 BBC Young Writers’ Award with Cambridge University for his story “The Wordsmith”, a tale of an “otherworldly craftsman who hammers words into being.” The prize is “open to all writers between the ages of 14–18 and was created to discover and inspire the next generation of writers.”
The winner receives “a personalized mentoring session with an author to enhance their writing skills.”
The award ceremony was broadcast live on September 26, 2023.
For audio recordings of “The Wordsmith” and the remaining shortlisted stories (several of speculative interest), see the BBC announcement.
