Adjei-Brenyah Shortlisted for Waterstones Debut Prize

Waterstones have announced the shortlist for their second annual Debut Fiction Prize. “Celebrating debut fiction in all its forms, the prize highlights the importance of discovering and championing new talent and acts as an extension of the alchemy of bookseller word-of-mouth recommendation.” Of genre interest among the six shortlisted titles is Chain-Gang All-Stars, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah (Pantheon).

The award is “open to all debut fiction, including genre fiction such as crime, sci-fi and fantasy as well as fiction in translation.” The winner, who will receive £5,000, will be announced on August 24, 2023.
