RSL Ondaatje Prize 2023 Longlist
The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida by Shehan Karunatilaka (Sort Of Books; Norton) and Scary Monsters by Michelle de Kretser (Atlantic; Allen and Unwin) are on the longlist for the £10,000 Royal Society of Literature (RSL) Ondaatje Prize.
The award is given “to an outstanding work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry that best evokes the spirit of a place.” The judges for 2023 are Samira Ahmed (Chair), Roger Robinson, and Joelle Taylor.
The shortlist will be announced April 26, and the winner on May 10, 2023. For more information, including the complete nine-title longlist, see the Royal Society of Literature website.
