The Roswell Award seeks “stories on diverse topics that explore and connect themes such as social justice, feminism, identity, inequity, environmental sustainability, ethics, and technology.” Winners will be announced and honored during an online ceremony to be held May 21, 2023. The New Suns Climate Fiction Award is for “original short science fiction that reimagines new ways of living and depicts humanity exploring and overcoming today’s climate and biodiversity crises.” This year’s winner is “Desert Rain” by Natalie Click. Honorable mentions were also announced:
