Imagine 2200 Contest Winners
Fix, Grist‘s “solutions lab,” has announced three winners for their second Imagine 2200 Short Story Contest. The contest asks authors “to envision a clean, just future… [and] create stories of life in that future.” The theme was “Climate fiction for future ancestors.” Winners are:
- First Place: “The Metamorphosis of Marie Martin”, Nadine Tomlinson
- Second Place: “By the Skin of Your Teeth”, Gina McGuire
- Third Place: “Seven Sisters”, Susan Kaye Quinn
Other finalists were:
- “The Lexicographer and One Tree Island”, Akhim Alexis
- “The Florida Project”, Morayo Faleyimu
- “Benni and Shiya Are Leaving”, Jerri Jerreat
- “And Now the Shade”, Rich Larson
- “Secret Powers”, Anya Markov
- “The World Away From the Rain”, Ella Menzies
- “Omaliyi”, Ebele Mọgọ
- “Legend Has It”, Azisa Noor
- “A Holdout in the Northern California Designated Wildcraft Zone”, T.K. Rex
