2022 Aspen Words Longlist
The 16-title longlist for the 2022 Aspen Words Literary Prize has been announced, including titles and authors of genre interest:
- What Strange Paradise, Omar El Akkad (Knopf)
- The Love Songs of W.E.B Du Bois, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers (Harper Collins)
- Hell of a Book, Jason Mott (Dutton, Penguin Random House)
- Bewilderment, Richard Powers (W.W. Norton)
Finalists will be announced February 23, 2022, and the winner will be announced April 21, 2022. The $35,000 prize is awarded to “an influential work of fiction focused on vital contemporary issues.” Finalists and winner are chosen by jury which this year consists of Angie Cruz, Danielle Evans, Ann B. Friedman, Kiese Laymon, Pádraig Ó Tuama. The selection committee includes Lupita Aquino, Isaac Butler, and Onyinye Ihezukwu. Aspen Words is a program of the Aspen Institute.
