On the hardcover list, George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood barely overcame our second place finisher, Through Fiery Trials by David Weber, to remain number one on the hardcover list. The new runner-up was Rewrite by Gregory Benford (Saga), a thematic sequel to Timescape. We had 47 nominated titles, down from 55 last month.
Scourged, the ninth book in Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles, took first place on the paperback list with a decent lead over The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, one of the perennials on our bestsellers list. There were no new runners-up. There were 47 titles nominated, down from last month’s 53.
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin remained at the top of our trade paperback list with a huge lead over Fonda Lee’s Jade City in second. There were no new runners-up. We had 63 titles nominated, down from 67 last month.
In media and gaming related books, only one book received enough votes to make our list, Firefly: Big Damn Hero by James Lovegrove. All the other voting was too diffuse. There were no new runners-up. We had 20 nominated tiles, down from last month’s 30.
Compiled with data from Bakka-Phoenix Books (Canada), Barnes & Noble (USA), Borderlands (CA), McNally Robinson (2 in Canada), Mysterious Galaxy (CA), Toadstool (NH), Uncle Hugo’s (MN), White Dwarf (Canada).
