Patterson Funds Holiday Bonuses
James Patterson gave away $350,000 to more than 300 independent bookstore employees as holiday bonuses in December 2017, in amounts ranging from $750 to $1,250. While he takes nominations and otherwise runs the program with the assistance of the American Booksellers Association, Patterson funds the bonuses personally.
