On the hardcover list, The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. by Neal Stephenson & Nicole Galland held onto first place, followed closely by J.R.R. Tolkien’s Beren and Lúthien in second. There were no new runners-up; we had 53 nominated titles, down from 55 last month.
Perennial favorite A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (80 times on the bestseller list!) returned to claim first place on the paperback list with a generous lead over second-place finisher Patrick Rothfuss’s The Wise Man’s Fear. Wildfire by Ilona Andrews (Avon), book three in her Hidden Legacy series, was the new runner-up. There were 55 nominated titles, up from 46 last month.
N.K. Jemisin swept the trade paperback list, taking the top three spots with her Broken Earth trilogy. In first place was The Stone Sky, followed by The Fifth Season in second, and The Obelisk Gate in third. There were no new runners-up. We had 66 nominated titles, up from 44 last month.
New release Star Trek: Rise of the Federation: Patterns of Interference by Christopher L. Bennett claimed first place on our media-related & gaming-related list, with James Luceno’s Star Wars: Catalyst in second. There were no new runners-up; 27 titles were nominated, up from 23 last month.
