Merril Wins Rediscovery Award

Judith Merril (1923-1997) is the winner of the 2015 Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award, intended to bring attention to lesser-known SF and fantasy authors. This year’s judges were Elizabeth Hand, Barry Malzberg, Mike Resnick, and Robert J. Sawyer. The award was announced at Readercon 27, held July 7-10, 2016 in Quincy MA. In a Facebook comment on July 9, Sawyer said:

We did indeed select Judith Merril as the winner this year and the award is presented at Readercon. Judy was the unanimous choice of all four judges. The decision was reached September 1, 2015.
