Beijing and Kansas City Worldcon Bids
Two bids have been formally filed to host the 74th World Science Fiction Convention, to be held in 2016: Beijing, China and Kansas City MO.
Chinese fan organization the Future Affairs Administration proposes to hold the Worldcon at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from August 14-19, 2016. Their bid website is at www.guokr.com/zone/worldcon.
Mid American Science Fiction and Fantasy Conventions, Inc. (doing business as “Kansas City in 2016”) proposes to host the Worldcon at the H. Roe Bartle Hall and the Marriott-Muehlbach hotel from August 17-21, 2016. Their bid website is at kcin2016.org.
All adult and young-adult attending and supporting members of Loncon 3 are eligible to take part in the site selection process. Ballots may be submitted by mail or in person at the convention. Details should appear soon on the Loncon 3 website, and questions may be sent to site-selection@loncon3.org.
