Weekly Bestsellers, 4 November
Veronica Roth’s Allegiant (Katherine Tegan) is #1 on the USA Today list this week, and #1 on Publishers Weekly‘s children’s list, but it’s not on the analogous New York Times list. As the third book in a series, NYT excludes it and, as of this week, the two previous titles Divergent and Insurgent from its Young Adult list in favor of a single entry on its Children’s Series list (where it’s #1 this week). Anne Rice’s The Wolves of Midwinter (Knopf) debuted last week on the New York Times list and ranks on three lists this week. For the first time since Locus Online has been compiling these lists, Orson Scott Card’s Speaker for the Dead appears on a couple lists, in the mass market paperback edition.
