New E-Book Imprint, InterMix, Launched by Berkley/NAL
Beginning in January 2012, Berkley/NAL, the mass-market division of Penguin, will launch a new e-book imprint called InterMix. Focusing on genres common among mass-market titles, such as women’s fiction, romance, mystery/ thrill, and science fiction, InterMix plans to release a mix of titles from new authors and reprints. All InterMix titles will be given new cover art, interior design, and “creative marketing, publicity, and advertising campaigns.” Leslie Gelbman, president of Berkley Publishing, said that InterMix is “an extension of what we’ve been doing, providing a way for original voices to reach readers,” and noted that some of the original InterMix authors could be republished in any of the print formats.
