SFFH on General Lists

Two about-to-be-published titles debut on charts this week: Dean Koontz's latest hardcover, The Taking (Bantam), and the trade paperback of Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife (Harvest), both on Amazon's list. Also, the paperback of Eoin Colfer's third Artemis Fowl novel shows up on New York Times's children's list, while in Australia, book 3 of series 3 of Emily Rodda's Deltora Quest YA series leads Dymock's children's list (and is 3rd on its Top Ten Books of the Week list). Karen Joy Fowler's associational novel The Jane Austen Book Club remains on 6 lists. UK's BookScan site hasn't updated again this week; perhaps we'll replace it with Amazon UK's Hot 100 Books if this keeps us. All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats, and BookScan, which combines hardcovers and paperbacks within lists for fiction, nonfiction, and children's. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.
