Philip Pullman's The Amber Spyglass, the third volume of the ''His Dark Materials'' sequence, debuts on four more lists this week, and moves up on the NYT list it debuted on last week. The book won't be published in the UK until early November. The paperback of Pullman's first volume, The Golden Compass, has appeared on Amazon's list this week. Another paperback reprint to appear this week is Anne Rice's The Vampire Armand, on two lists; her new book Merrick hasn't yet appeared on the fiction hardcover lists. New on prepublication lists: Caleb Carr's Killing Time; Anne McCaffrey's The Skies of Pern.
