The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror: Sixth Annual Collection ed. Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling (St. Martin’s 0-312-09422-1, Aug ’93 [Jul ’93], $16.95, 529pp, tp, cover by Thomas Canty) Best-of-the-year anthology of 49 stories and three poems, plus a summation of the year in horror and fantasy by the editors, a survey of fantasy and sf in the media, and a necrology. This is the best of the horror/fantasy “bests.” Highly recommended (SW). This edition has several errors in the front matter, including the second page of the table of contents being without page numbers. A hardcover edition (-09421-1, $27.95) was announced but not seen.
