SFFH on General Lists

Laurell K. Hamilton's Incubus Dreams (Berkley) debuts on 5 US charts this week, ranking #2 at New York Times and Publishers Weekly and in the top 10 on the others. It also debuts on the Amazon list in the UK, where its first edition is a paperback. Stephen King's The Dark Tower holds the #1 position on 3 US lists. Philip Roth's The Plot Against America debuts on 2 more US lists and rises on several others, ranking #1 in San Francisco. Beginning this week, the New York Times adds a fourth Children's Books list for series books, so that individual volumes of Harry Potter, Redwall, Artemis Fowl, etc., are no longer ranked on the hardcover and paperback lists. All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats, and BookScan, which combines hardcovers and paperbacks within lists for fiction, nonfiction, and children's. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.
