Shadow Puppets dominated hardbacks, with more than 100 points over the next title; The Salmon of Doubt: Hitchhiking the Galaxy One Last Time and 1633 made strong showings as well. Sir Apropos of Nothing, Book Two: The Woad to Wuin by Peter David (Pocket) was the new runner-up. We had 74 nominees, down from 87 last month.
Myth-ion Improbable led the paperback category by a substantial margin. New runner-up: Terry Pratchett's Witches Abroad (HarperTorch). Nominees: 76, down from 91.
The Lord of the Rings was back on top of the trade paperback category by a solid margin. New runner-up: The Outpost by Mike Resnick (Tor). Nominees: 54, down from 59.
Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Traitor took over the top spot in media-related titles with three times as many points as the next title. Nominees: 40, down from 55.
Forgotten Realms: Sea of Swords had no close competition in the gaming-related category. Nominees: 33, up from 31.
