The Salmon of Doubt: Hitchhiking the Galaxy One Last Time dominated hardbacks with a substantial lead for the second month straight; the next three titles were within a few points of each other. Regina's Song by David Eddings & Leigh Eddings (Del Rey) was the new runner-up. We had 87 nominees, well up from 79 last month.

American Gods dominated paperbacks for the third consecutive month; The Disappeared made a strong showing as well. New runner-up: Harry Turtledove's American Empire: Blood & Iron (Del Rey). Nominees: 91, up from 87.

Lord Darcy had a solid lead in the trade paperback category. New runner-up: The Scar by China Miéville (Del Rey). Nominees: 59, down from 62.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Enemy Lines II: Rebel Stand again led media-related titles by a solid margin. Nominees: 55, up substantially from 24.

DragonLance: Dragons of a Vanished Moon continued to dominate gaming-related titles. Nominees: 31, one more than last month.
