Most genre titles slip this week, except for the Harry Potter books, which rise a bit on mosts lists, perhaps due to holiday sales. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is back at #1 on the Wall Street Journal list. The other genre success story is Terry Pratchett, whose The Truth has slipped to #2 after six weeks at #1 on the Times of London's list, and still ranks at #1 on the Amazon UK list this week. The UK paperback of Thomas Harris's Hannibal debuts this week at #1 on the Times of London list. The paperback of Terry Pratchett's The Fifth Elephant has mysteriously disappeared from that list (it's been #2 or #3 for several weeks), but is #3 this week on Amazon UK's paperback list. Leading the Not-yet-published list this week on Amazon (no longer compiled in the table below) are forthcoming titles by Koontz, Card, and McCaffrey. Publishers Weekly appears to have taken a week off; the column in the table below shows last week's ranks.
