The US edition of David & Leigh Eddings's The Redemption of Althalus (Del Rey) debuts on the NYT list dated 24 December. (The NYT posts its online bestseller lists a week in advance of print publication.) The general fiction hardcover and paperback lists at Amazon.com have been updated for the first time in about a month, which is why several titles in the table below show as debuting on those lists this week. The Amazon paperback list shows how current bestsellers (or TV miniseries) spur sales of earlier books in a series. Paperback titles by George R.R. Martin and Philip Pullman have ranked in Amazon's top 25 in recent weeks, and this week the first two books in the original Dune series by Frank Herbert rank #8 and #20. Terry Pratchett's The Truth remains at #1 on both UK lists, Amazon UK and the Times of London.
