All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.
Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book (HarperCollins) debuts at #1 on New York Times children's chapter book list this week. It ranks #81 on USA Today's combined list, and is holding at #37 on Amazon.com.
Terry Pratchett's Nation (also HarperCollins) debuts at #5 on the NYT children's chapter book list, though it's already slipped off this week's Amazon.com rankings, after placing for one week. The UK edition still ranks on Amazon UK and Canada, after 10 weeks.
The mass market paperback edition of Terry Goodkind's Confessor (Tor) debuts on three lists this week, as high as #17 on NYT's mass market fiction list.
Charlaine Harris' seven Sookie Stackhouse novels all rank again this week on Amazon.com, though two of them have dropped off New York Times' mass market paperback list. Four of them rank on Amazon Canada for the first time this week.
Christopher Paolini's Brisingr still ranks impressively at #1 on the combined USA Today list, and among the top 10 on lists from the three Amazons and San Francisco Chronicle.
