All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.
Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

Neal Stephenson's Anathem (Morrow) debuts strongly this week on print lists, ranking #1 on the New York Times fiction hardcover list, #2 on the same lists at Washington Post and San Francisco Chronicle, #3 at Publishers Weekly.
Christopher Paolini's Brisingr, which went on sale last Saturday, still ranks #1 on all three Amazon lists today.
With the release of HBO series True Blood this month, based on Charlaine Harris' series of Sookie Stackhouse novels, reprint editions of the novels from Ace are ranking prominently on some lists; the first book, Dead Until Dark, for instance, ranks #8 on this week's mass market list from Publishers Weekly.
