SFFH on General Lists

After a couple weeks of Amazon pre-sales, Terry Goodkind's Chainfire (Tor) debuts impressively on 4 print lists, as high as #3 at New York Times and Publishers Weekly. The trade paperback of Stephen King's The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla (Scribner) debuts on 3 lists this week. Also debuting, on the USA Today list, the paperback reprint of Todd & Anne McCaffrey's Dragon's Kin (Del Rey), and the paperback original Sister of the Dead by Barb & J.C. Hendee (Roc). J.K. Rowling's forthcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince remains at #1 on all the Amazon lists. All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats, and BookScan, which combines hardcovers and paperbacks within lists for fiction, nonfiction, and children's. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.
