Stephenson held onto his lead for hardcovers. There was no new runner-up. We had 76 nominees, to 79 last month.
David Brin still tops the paperbacks, but the Sterling also did well. The new runner-up is Luna Marine by Ian Douglas (Avon Eos). Nominees: 99, up from 88.
The Dozois year's best dominates the trade paperbacks. ''New'' runner-up: Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Nominees: 60, down from 64.
Spin-offs from the new Star Wars prequel continue to lead the media list, as each of the first two entries gets more than double the points of anything else. New runner-up is another prequel tie-in: Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace Visual Dictionary by David W. Reynolds (DK). We had 39 nominees, the same as last month.
In gaming, the new Salvatore had a commanding lead. There was no new runner-up. Nominees: 19, to last month's 23.
