The Prentice Hall Anthology of Science Fiction and Fantasy ed. Garyn G. Roberts (Prentice-Hall 0-13-021280-6, Jan 2001, $47.00, 1166pp, tp, cover by Frank R. Paul) Teaching anthology of 87 stories, plus one essay, covering fantastic fiction from Poe and Shelley to Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, and Kim Stanley Robinson. Roberts provides background information on SF, fantasy, and dark fantasy/horror in general, with story introductions discussing the authors’ contributions to the field.
