Christopher Paolini's Eldest debuts at #1 on the New York Times' children's chapter book list, and -- perhaps more significantly -- debuts at #3 on San Francisco Chronicle's hardcover fiction list. It jumped to #1 on the USA Today list, after a low-ranking debut last week, and ranks at #4 this week on all three Amazon lists compiled here.
Other debuts this week, some due to pre-publication sales, include Raymond E. Feist's Flight of the Nighthawks, Cornelia Funke's Inkspell, Herbert/Herbert/Anderson's The Road to Dune, Brian Jacques' High Rhulain, and S.M. Stirling's The Protector's War.
Presumably due to the US Labor Day holiday, Publishers Weekly hasn't updated its site today. If it updates later this week, this page will be amended.
