Quicksilver dominated the hardcover category, with the next several titles in close competition with one another. New runner-up: Mercedes Lackey & James Mallory's The Outstretched Shadow (Tor). We had 57 nominees, down from 66 last month.
War of Honor led the paperback category by a solid margin. New runner-up: The Drowning World by Alan Dean Foster (Del Rey). Nominees: 71, well down from 98.
The Silmarillion beat out The Return of the King by one point in the trade paperback category. There was no new runner-up. Nominees: 42, down from 55 last month.
Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: The Unifying Force led the media-related titles by a good margin, and Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: The Final Prophecy made a strong showing as well. Nominees: 34, up from 24.
Forgotten Realms: The Lone Drow devastated the competition with nearly three times as many votes as Halo: The Fall of Reach. Nominees: 21, down from 23.
