The Pillars of Creation dominated hardcovers, with Dune: House Corrino holding a strong lead over the next contender. There was no new runner-up. We had 71 nominees, up from 65 last month.

Faith of the Fallen had a solid lead in the paperback category. No new runner-up. Nominees: 91, off from 95.

The Lord of the Rings topped trade paperbacks by a modest margin. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (Scholastic) was the new runner-up. Nominees: 59, up from 40 last month.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Star by Star had a substantial lead in media-related titles. Nominees: 37, down from 43.

Forgotten Realms: Sea of Swords topped the gaming-related category, with Forgotten Realms: Black Wolf not far behind. Nominees: 22, down from 26.
