The members of the Sidewise Awards for Alternate History jury are
nearing the end of their reading for the 1999 awards and the
deadline for recommending novels and stories to their attention
is close. If there is an alternate history first published during
1999 which you would like to recommend, especially any which may
have been published outside the science fiction press, please contact
the Sidewise jury, c/o Steven Silver. A

Fiction editor Ellen Datlow would like writers to know that she is not soliciting reprints for SCIFI.COM. Her SCIFI.COM market report about publishing two reprints per month concerns ''classic'' reprints. Don't call her, she'll call you.

Deadline extended: The John Crowley Master Class in Fiction sponsored by Chimera, Inc. has a new e-mail address, jks@enteract.com, and a new deadline: April 1, 2000.
Deadline is April 1 to apply to this year's Clarion West Writers Workshop, held from June 18 through July 28 in Seattle. Teachers include John Crowley and Paul Park (team teaching), Geoff Ryman, Candas Jane Dorsey, Pat Murphy, David Hartwell, and Carol Emshwiller.
