* Clute, John The Book of End Times (HarperPrism 0-06-105033-4, $30, 240pp, hc, November 1999) Subtitled ''Grappling with the Millennium'', this is a collage of illustrations, photographs, and quotations about the turn of the millennium. ''Millennium fever is nonsense, but that apocalypse is not'' say Clute's introduction; the book is about the ''hysteria''. It's heavily imbued, of course, with SFnal images and themes. * Gresh, Lois, & Robert Weinberg The Computers of Star Trek (Basic Books 0-465-01298-1, $22, 15+174pp, hc, January 2000) Latest nonfiction book analyzing the technological implications of Star Trek's scripts. Weinberg is twice winner of the World Fantasy Award and one-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award. Amazon quotes a review by Walter Koenig. (Tue 7 Dec 1999)
