Applications Open For 2023 Fiyah Grants

Fiyah has opened applications for this year’s Fiyah Grants, which include $1,000 and $500 awards in five categories: Rest, Emergency, Study, Craft, and Editorial. The grants are “intended to assist Black writers of speculative fiction in defraying costs associated with honing their craft,” and all except the Emergency Grant will be awarded as part of Juneteenth.

The grants are open to writers of speculative fiction who are 18 years or older. “FIYAH Grants, like our other submissions, are open to Black people of the African Diaspora. This definition is globally inclusive (Black anywhere in the world) and also applies to mixed/biracial and Afro-appended people regardless of gender identity or orientation.”

For more information about how to apply, see Fiyah‘s website.
