2022 Booker Prize Longlist
The 13-title longlist for the 2022 Booker Prize has been announced, including several titles and authors of genre interest:
- Glory, NoViolet Bulawayo (Viking; Chatto & Windus)
- The Trees, Percival Everett (Graywolf Press; Influx)
- Booth, Karen Joy Fowler (Putnam; Serpent’s Tail)
- Treacle Walker, Alan Garner (4th Estate)
- The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, Shehan Karunatilaka (Sort Of)
The £50,000 prize is “open to works by writers of any nationality, written in English and published in the UK or Ireland.” This year’s judges are Shahidha Bari, Helen Castor, M. John Harrison, Alain Mabanckou, and Neil MacGregor (chair).
The shortlist will be announced September 6, 2022. Shortlisted authors receive £2,500 and a “specially bound edition of their book.” Winners will be announced October 17, 2022.
