2021 Diverse Writers and Diverse Worlds Grants Winners

The Speculative Literature Foundation (SLF) announced that S. Qiouyi Lu has won the 2021 Diverse Writers Grant for “Razing Babel”, and Elena Pavlova the 2021 Diverse Worlds Grant for “The Life and Adventures of Hillmeria Cat”.

The Diverse Writers Grant is “intended to support new and emerging writers from underrepresented and underprivileged groups, such as writers of color, women, queer writers, disabled writers, working-class writers, etc. — those whose marginalized identities may present additional obstacles in the writing/publishing process.” The Diverse Worlds Grant is given “for work that best presents a diverse world, regardless of the writer’s background.” Each grant is for $500, made possible by donations from Faye Bi and Ellen Wright.
