Machado Wins 2021 Rathbones Folio Prize
In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado (Serpent’s Tail) has won the 2021 Rathbones Folio Prize. Other finalist titles of genre interest included A Ghost in the Throat by Doireann Ní Ghríofa (Tramp) and The Mermaid of Black Conch by Monique Roffey (Peepal Tree).
The £30,000 Rathbones Folio Prize is open to all works of literature written in English and published in the UK during the previous calendar year. Judges for 2021 were Sinéad Gleeson, Jon McGregor, and Roger Robinson. For more information, see the Rathbones Folio Prize website.
