PEN Translates Winners

The 19 winning titles for the PEN Translates awards have been announced, including the following authors of genre interest:

  • The Divorce, César Aira, translated by Chris Andrews (And Other Stories)
  • Waiting for the Waters to Rise, Maryse Condé, translated by Richard Philcox (World Editions)
  • Puppets, Daniela Hodrová, translated by Elena Sokol & Veronique Firkusny (Jantar)

With support from Arts Council England, the award helps UK publishers translate new works into English. “PEN Translates will fund up to 75% of translation costs for selected projects.” The next application period is October-November 2020.
