2020 Guggenheim Fellowships

Authors Yiyun Li and Helen Phillips are among the 2020 Guggenheim Fellows, announced by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Fellowships were awarded to 175 recipients across 53 fields of study “on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise.”

The Foundation was started in 1925 and has awarded grants totaling more than $375 million. Fellowships are through two annual competitions: one for citizens and permanent residents of the US and Canada, and one for citizens and permanent residents of Latin America and the Caribbean. Applications for the 2021 United States and Canada competition will be available in July 2020.

For more information, including a full list of fellows and competition rules, see the Guggenheim Foundation website.
