2020 PEN/Faulkner Finalists

We Cast a Shadow by Maurice Carlos Ruffin (One World) and Where Reasons End by Yiyun Li (Random House) are among the five finalists for the 2020 PEN/Faulkner award. The prize “honors the best published works of fiction by American citizens in a calendar year.” This year’s judges are Patricia Engel, Ru Freeman, and Porochista Khakpour.

The winner will receive $15,000 and finalists will each receive $5,000. Final results will be announced on April 6, and the authors will be honored during an award ceremony on May 4, 2020 at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington DC.
