2019 WSFA Small Press Award

Finalists for the 2019 Washington Science Fiction Association (WSFA) Small Press Award for Short Fiction have been announced:

  • “Baggage”, Leslie Burton-Lopez (When to Now: A Time Travel Anthology)
  • “The Djinni and the Accountant”,  Hal J. Friesen (Fire: Demons, Dragons, and Djinn)
  • “A Witch’s Guide to Escape: A Practical Compendium of Portal Fantasies”, Alix E. Harrow (Apex 2/18)
  • “The Hydraulic Emperor”, Arkady Martine (Uncanny 1-2/18)
  • “The Thing in the Walls Wants Your Small Change”, Virginia M. Mohlere (Luna Station Quarterly 5/18)
  • “The Spider and the Stars”, DK Mok (Glass and Gardens: Solarpunk Summers)

The award, recognizing the “best original short fiction” published by small presses in the previous year, will be presented at Capclave, held October 18-20, 2019 in Rockville MD at the Rockville Hilton. The winner will be chosen by members of WSFA. For more, see the WSFA Small Press Award site.
