2019 Baen Fantasy Adventure Award Winner

“Treason Properly” by J.J. Cragun won the sixth annual Baen Fantasy Adventure Award, announced July 6, 2019 during SpikeCon in Layton UT. Second place went to “In the House of Rain and Gale” by Joelle Douthit and third place went to “In the City of Dreadful Joy” by Misha Burnett.

Other nominees were:

  • “The Storm Stone”, Kevin Harkness
  • “Breach of Contract”, Anne Leonard
  • “The Dragon is Blind”, Sam Muller
  • “FedEx”, Sam Robb
  • “The Dormer Trees”, Sarah Totten
  • “Demons on the Canadian Frontier”, Shannon Walker

The contest focuses on adventure fantasy short stories. The grand prize includes publication on the Baen website, an engraved award, and an assortment of Baen books. Second and third place winners receive prize packages of Baen books.
