SoA Awards Winners

Winners for several Society of Authors (SoA) fiction awards were announced June 17, 2019 during the Society of Authors’ Awards and Summer Party at Southwark Cathedral in London, UK.

The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gower (Harvill Secker) and The Water Cure by Sophie Mackintosh (Hamish Hamilton) were among the six Betty Trask Award winners, each receiving £2,700. The award is given “for a first novel by a writer under 35” and was judged this year by Ben Brooks, Elanor Dymott, and Vaseem Khan.
