2019 International Dylan Thomas Prize Shortlist

Locus Magazine, Science Fiction FantasyThe shortlist for the 2019 International Dylan Thomas Prize has been announced. Titles of genre interest include:

  • Friday Black, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah (Mariner; riverrun)
  • Folk, Zoe Gilbert (Bloomsbury)
  • Trinity, Louisa Hall (Ecco)
  • Melmoth, Sarah Perry (Serpent’s Tail)

The annual Dylan Thomas prize, in partnership with Swansea University, awards £30,000 “to the best published or produced literary work in the English language, written by an author aged 39 or under.” Judges are Kit de Waal, Kurt Heinzelman, Dai Smith (chair), and Di Speirs.

The winner will be announced on May 16, 2019 at Swansea University’s Great Hall. For more information, see the official website.
