The “Worldbuilder Scholarship” will be given “to an applicant who demonstrates both financial need and a talent for worldbuilding and the creation of secondary universes” and will cover all tuition, fees, and lodging for one student per year. The scholarship will be decided via blind judging.
Instructors for the 2018 summer session, to be held June 17 – July 27, 2018, include Daniel Abraham, Ellen Datlow, Karen Joy Fowler, Yoon Ha Lee, Karen Lord, and Ken MacLeod. Application deadline is March 1, 2018. For more information, see the Clarion West website.
Martin has also provided funding for scholarships to other writing workshops, including Taos Toolbox and Odyssey.
