The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss dominated the hardcover list, followed by William Gibson’s The Peripheral in second. Otherworld Nights by Kelly Armstrong (Random House Canada) was the new runner-up. There were 48 titles nominated, down from 50 last month.
After two months, the top spot on the paperback list was again claimed by George R.R. Martin, with his A Game of Thrones in first place, followed by Jack McDevitt’s Starhawk. The new runner-up was The Given Sacrifice by S.M. Stirling (Roc), with 54 nominated titles, one down from last month’s 55.
The Martian by Andy Weir took the first place on the trade paperback list, knocking Ann Leckie’s Ancillary Justice to second after three consecutive months in first place. The Dark Defiles by Richard K. Morgan (Del Rey) was the new runner-up. There were 29 nominated titles, down from last month’s 38.
Star Trek: Section 31: Disavowed by David Mack took the top spot in media-related books with Doctor Who: The Secret Lives of Monsters by Justin Richards taking second. There were no new runners-up, with 22 nominated titles, up from 21 last month.
The gaming list became more diverse, with books in the Halo and Warhammer series making the list. However, the two top spots were still claimed by R.A. Salvatore with his Forgotten Realms: Companions Codex II: Rise of the King in first place and Forgotten Realms: Companions Codex I: Night of the Hunter in second. There were no new runners-up. There were 16 nominated titles, up from last month’s 12.
