Monica Hughes Award Launched
A new award for Canadian children’s literature, the Monica Hughes Award, has been launched by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre and will be sponsored by HarperCollins Canada. The award is in memorandum of children’s SF writer Monica Hughes, who passed away in 2003, and will include a $5,000 cash prize.
The first award is scheduled to be given October 2012. To be eligible for the award, a book must be an original work in English, aimed at readers ages eight to 16. For more information, see SF news site File 770.
