Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.

The eighth volume in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau Vampires series of paranormal romance novels, Vampires Are Forever (Avon) debuts strongly on three lists this week, ranking #1 and #3 on the mass market lists of Publishers Weekly and New York Times respectively. (Carolyn Cushman reviewed this volume and two others in the December '07 issue of Locus Magazine, noting that the series' vampires are "actually Atlantean immortals transformed by ancient nanotech".) Stephen King's Duma Key remains strong, ranking #2 or #4 on all five print lists this week, and still selling at Amazon and Amazon Canada. Two new titles by Stephenie Meyer appear on Amazon today: Breaking Dawn (Little Brown Young Readers), fourth in her popular Twilight Saga following Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, scheduled for release on August 2nd and ranking #9 today; and The Host: A Novel (also Little Brown), described as "her brilliant first novel for adults", due for release May 6th, ranking today at #94.
