The much hyped and heralded historical fantasy novel by Elizabeth Kostova, The Historian (Little, Brown), debuts very impressively on all 5 published lists compiled here, in 1st or 2nd place on all of them... including New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly. It's also high on Amazon's list, where it debuted 2 weeks ago.
This week's much-hyped book, The Traveler by John Twelve Hawks (Doubleday), debuts on Amazon's list today at #30. The book goes on sale in stores today, so expect to see any results of Doubleday's marketing campaign on lists next week.
J.K. Rowling's forthcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ranks #1 this week on all three Amazon lists, with only a couple weeks to go before publication.
