Tuesday 19 September 2000 Scott Edelman is New Science Fiction Weekly Editor Scott Edelman has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Science Fiction Weekly, Scifi.com's science fiction e-zine, effective October 9. He succeeds SFW Editor-in-Chief Brooks Peck. Edelman most recently served as editor of Science Fiction Age from 1992 to 2000, until the magazine's demise earlier this year. During that period he earned four Hugo nominations as Best Editor. Edelman has also edited other SF magazines, including Sci Fi Magazine, the official magazine of the Sci Fi Channel; Sci-Fi Flix; and Sci-Fi Universe. As a writer Edelman has published numerous short fiction and was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award for the story "A Plague on Both Your Houses". Scifi.com's Executive Producer Craig E. Engler said "Scott Edelman's editorial skills and unparalleled knowledge of the sci-fi genre make him the perfect choice to head up Science Fiction Weekly". And Edelman said, "With 2001 right around the corner, I can think of no place I'd rather be than at the helm of Scifi.com's Science Fiction Weekly, the genre's most trusted e-zine."
